Director, Game Management Authority Board | Melbourne - CBD

The Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions is seeking expressions of interest for a Board Member for the Game Management Authority.

The Game Management Authority (GMA) is an independent statutory authority responsible for the regulation of game hunting in Victoria. It delivers programs to improve and promote responsible hunting including the issuing of game licences, managing the seasons for game species, ensuring compliance with game hunting laws including educating hunters on how to hunt legally, and taking action against those who do not.

The position requires a Director who will bring: integrity; demonstrated honesty; a track record of acting in good faith and in the best interests of the organisation; the ability to listen, analyse, think clearly and work well with others; and a willingness to attend meetings, ask questions and take responsibility.

Expertise in one or more of the following areas is required: game and wildlife management; game hunting, communications, pest animal management; animal welfare; regulatory compliance; finance and/or accounting; wildlife biology/ecology; aboriginal culture and identity; private and public land management.
