Hog Deer Checking Station Survey

The Hog Deer Season occurs in April and each year those hunters fortunate enough to harvest a deer are required by law to take it to a Hog Deer Checking station within 24 hours of harvest so that biological information on the deer can be collected.

Hog Deer Checking Stations are an important link between hunters, researchers and regulators, linking game management, conservation biology, stakeholder services and compliance.

In 2015, the Game Management Authority surveyed hunters who attended a Hog Deer Checking Stations in order to better understand the hunter’s needs and expectations and to improve services where necessary.

The report on this page details the results of the 2015 survey.
