The Game Management Authority (GMA) has launched a series of new online education modules, to better equip and prepare hunters for the field.

The modules have been developed in consultation with Victorian hunters, hunting organisations, animal welfare groups and Traditional Owners groups – providing hunters with a comprehensive overview of game hunting laws, techniques and practices.

There are eight different modules covering the basics for hunting all Victorian game species including understanding game hunting laws, where to hunt, and essential survival skills.

The new modules provide a modern approach to educating hunters in Victoria. They give people the opportunity to enhance their hunting knowledge and gain valuable skills.

We’ve provided instructional videos to improve engagement and interactive quizzes so hunters can track their progress as they learn about the basic principles of effective and responsible hunting.

The online modules can be accessed anywhere at any time, allowing hunters to learn at their own pace and convenience.

The hunter education modules are a key deliverable in the Victorian Government’s Sustainable Hunting Action Plan 2021-24, which commits to enhancing hunter education.

The GMA produces a range of education resources for hunters and conducts compliance operations and education events across Victoria to ensure hunters are aware of the importance of abiding by the law.
