Last season for the use of lead shot

We are also reminding hunters that 2024 is set to be the last season for the use of lead shot in Stubble Quail hunting.

On 29 January 2024, the Victorian Government announced its response to the Parliamentary Inquiry into Victoria's Recreational Native Bird Hunting Arrangements, confirming that recreational duck and quail hunting will continue in Victoria – with a few important changes.

One of these changes is to ban the use of lead shot for Stubble Quail hunting from 2025, following a regulatory review process.
