The Victorian Government has appointed a new board director to the Game Management Authority (GMA), expanding the diversity of skills and experience of Victoria’s game hunting regulator.

The Victorian Government has appointed a new board director to the Game Management Authority (GMA), expanding the diversity of skills and experience of Victoria’s game hunting regulator.

Kylie Warne will join the GMA Board on 1 January 2024, for a term of two years.

Kylie is a marketing communications strategist with over 25 years’ experience in the industry. Kylie operated her own consultancy business for 17 years and is a non-executive board member of the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and Chair of the Regional Development Advisory Committee (RDAC).

Kylie is interested in supporting regional economic growth and prosperity, engaging stakeholders, and using data to drive decision-making.

GMA Acting Chairperson, Corrie Goodwin, welcomes the new appointment.

Ms Goodwin says the GMA Board is skills-based, with a strong focus on evidence-based decision making.

“Kylie’s expertise in communications will complement the functions and culture of the GMA Board, strengthening the Board’s experience in community and stakeholder engagement.” Ms Goodwin says.

The GMA works with the community and stakeholders to regulate game hunting in Victoria through education, research and enforcement, to ensure game hunting is conducted in a responsible and sustainable way.

The composition of the GMA Board continues to reflect diversity with gender equity, Traditional Owner and regional Victorian representation.
